The Sheffield Way Relay is an annual team race organised by the Steel City Striders (Running Club) in September. The Sheffield Way is a circular route of 46.4 miles which roughly follows the perimeter of Sheffield. The relay splits the route into 5 legs of around 10 miles each, finishing at the Canal Basin near the old Don Valley Stadium. Click here to visit the Striders SWR page
The Sheffield Way Ultra is an individual race which follows the complete Sheffield Way loop. Click here for the Striders Sheffield Way Ultra page
The following routes were updated 26/9/23 following the race which took place on 17/9/23. I’ve done my best to make this page as accurate as possible, however, there are often path closures and route changes. Therefore, please contact the race organisers for the definitive routes or route changes.
- 2021 Leg 4 was modified due to path closures
- 2022 leg started at Weedon Street due to the canal basic being closed
- 2023 leg 3 ended at Redmires due to Wyming Brook being closed
The following routes are the normal or traditional routes assuming no path closures.
